Shopify Frontend Developer
A bridge between design and a high-performing storefront.
Radikal is looking for a Shopify Frontend Developer with a passion for e-commerce and a sharp eye for craftsmanship in code. You'll build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes that are fast, scalable, and a joy to use.
You'll deliver pixel-accurate, performance-obsessed Shopify storefronts for clients in sports, fashion, interior, and beauty. You'll work closely with designers, project managers, and backend developers to translate ideas into clean, maintainable code.
Build, optimize, and ship.
- Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with strong attention to performance, conversion, and maintainability.
- Translate designs and requirements into functional, scalable frontend implementations, staying close to the design and respecting the intent behind every detail.
- Optimize for speed, responsiveness, and core e-commerce flows like PDP, cart, and checkout.
- Troubleshoot frontend issues across themes, apps, and third-party integrations, and flag technical risks early.
- Collaborate with PMs on scope and priorities, and with designers on accurate UX/UI implementation.
- Support and deliver Shopify training sessions for clients.
- Leverage AI tools for development, debugging, and documentation without sacrificing code quality.
- Document technical decisions so the whole team benefits.
Strong fundamentals, agency mindset.
Frontend Expertise
3 to 6+ years of frontend development experience within an agency. Shopify experience is a strong plus; if you don't have it yet but bring deep frontend fundamentals, we'll happily get you up to speed.
Strong Fundamentals
Solid proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and a track record of building responsive, performance-optimized interfaces.
Platform Knowledge
Familiarity with Shopify APIs, apps, and third-party integrations, or a clear appetite to learn them quickly.
Quality Mindset
Strong attention to code quality, reusability, and maintainability. You write code others enjoy working in.
Team Player
You collaborate openly with designers, PMs, and backend developers, and you communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
Problem Solver
Strong technical judgment for ambiguous problems and a calm, structured approach to debugging.
Language
Fluency in Dutch (C2) and English (B2 minimum).
Location
Able to work from our office in Antwerp a few days a week.

Liquid & theme architecture
Experience with Shopify Liquid and theme architecture.
Modern stacks
Experience with React, Headless commerce, or Shopify APIs.
APIs & open source
Comfort with RESTful APIs and open-source tooling.
Design systems
Experience contributing to a component-based design system or shared theme architecture.
Side projects
Open-source contributions, side projects, or anything that shows you enjoy the craft.
Karaoke
A strong karaoke skillset.
Shopify Premier partner, moving to Platinum.
